The Curry Family
Michael George Curry II was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 30th, 1991. We lived in Memphis till June of 1992, when we moved to Crosby, Texas. Michael began doing all the things kids like to do. He went fishing and crabbing with his grandpa. He played soccer with his sister and cousins. One of his favorite pastimes he shared with many other 12 year olds and that was video games, his favorite time then was when he beat his cousin Andrew. He went to museums and amusement parks with his aunt Anna. He taught his Grandma how to play card games while enjoying their visits while enjoying being spoiled on his trips to see her in Dallas. He went to Mississippi to visit his granny and papa Charles and fed the cows and pigs. His uncle Fred took him fly fishing at his ponds and thought it was the greatest. His uncle Steve took him hunting, to Astros and Rockets games. One of Michael’s most fun times was Trick or Treating with his Uncle Steve. He played card games with his aunt Jacki and he liked to call his Aunt Vicki, “Queen Victoria”.
He attended Crosby schools were he made numerous friends of kids and teachers alike. He was a very smart student who brought home good grades. He played baseball and soccer at the Crosby Sports Association. He attended Atascocita Community Church. Where he grew to love his time in Adventure Zone and loved to learn things about “ The Big Guy ”.
In the summer of 2003 Michael, his mom, his sister and grandma, went to visit his aunt Anna in Japan. Oh what a glorious time he had there. He impressed many there by trying to communicate in their own language as best he could.
At the end of the summer on September 30th, 2003 Michael was diagnosed with Pontine Glioma, tumors in the brain stem. These tumors are inoperable and incurable. His mom and I were told on October 5th that Michael only had hours to live. Michael asked to be baptized while lying in a hospital bed at Texas Childrens Hospital. On October 12th, Pastor Phil Herrington granted that request, but not only was Michael baptized, so were his mom Kathleen, his sister Amanda, and me, his dad. All of us knew that Michael was going to heaven. Michael never gave up hope and never gave up his faith. This mom was assured of Michael’s faith as we drove home from that first appointment with the neurologist and my son told me not to cry that “The Big Guy was going to take care of him as he pointed to heaven.
Michael’s concern for others touched us all when he mentioned his concern for the other children at the hospital that had no visitors. Michael’s faith in God has touched an immeasurable amount of people across this country of ours and a few across the world. On September 18th, 2004 Michael did go to heaven.
Michael said when he was nine and a few times since. I want to be a microbiologist and study cells so I can cure diseases like cancer. What an outstanding goal that is. We will not let that goal die. In memory of a wonderful Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew and Cousin we will carry on his fight of cancer, his belief in God, his amazing touch and his love.
Thank you for visiting Michael’s site. Please enjoy the rest.

No More Wasted Days
One day comes
One day goes
One still to come
Some filled with laughter and fun
Some filled with sorrow and love
Hopefully there are more to come
One day comes
One day goes
One still to come
One question floats within
Is Michael staying, or is Michael going
One day comes
One days goes
One still to come
Through all we laugh and cry
We'll keep laughing
We'll keep crying
We'll do it all
One day comes
One day goes
One still to come
None wasted we pray
He knows we love him
He knows we miss him
And that's all we can say

"I love you bubba"

Michael G. Curry II
December 30, 1991 - September 18, 2004
God looked around His garden and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
Gods garden must be beautiful.
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyes and whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
